OK here's the deal. I was out taking some pictures of the lights over the Delta waters of the Carquinez Straight in the San Francisco Bay. I was parked on a dark lightly traveled back road between Vallejo and Benicia Ca. called Lake Herman Road......(Lake Herman road is the site where the infamous "Zodiac" killer committed a double murder and went on to commit a string of other grizzly murders for which he was never caught). Anyway, about the time i was ready to leave and go home a low flying military jet flew over the top of us on its trip back to Travis AFB. This was not anything out of the norm since Military cargo jets and C-17 transports circle low all the time around here. So anyway I wanted to get a shot of it anyway so i turned on my camera and began shooting....What you will see and hear is me and a friend talking excitedly as this jet flew overhead. Now i was looking through the viewfinder so the vertical tail wing being lit up like it was looked like a flame similar to what you see coming from the tail of a fighter jet..Which as you can hear was very strange to me..It wasn't until I watched it on my computer later that I realized that it was actually the vertical Tail wing lit up by a floodlight mounted on the aircraft.......oh well...you can call me an idiot later.But im sure some of you wont wait that long. At 1:00 you can see the object streak upward. There were others before and many after this one. This is the clearest one you can see without pausing and ...
