This trick allows Gideon to travel further vertically than normally possible by abusing an oversight involving the Negate Shield. Negate Shields dissolve under Gideon's feet, but provide the benefit of essentially being a placeable wall that you can walljump off of. When you leap onto a shield and land with a fist slam, though, there is a short period of time (despite the shield being erased) where you can jump again. This means you can land on one shield, jump again, activate another shield, place it, walljump off of that shield, and fist slam onto the top of the new one, repeating the process virtually infinitely. The benefit this has over a standard charge jump is that this trick can reach much higher, and it gives you a guaranteed surface to walljump off of. It additionally recharges significant amounts of energy between shield uses, extending the number of times you could perform the trick in a row. While its versitility is interesting, the game unfortunately isn't very vertically-oriented (or at least open) and mostly deals with linear paths. Nonetheless, it's important to note that this trick can easily be used in combination with other moves or tricks such as the Dodge Step. When dodgeshifting into a placed shield in mid-air, Gideon will hang inside the shield for a few seconds, giving you a chance to walljump off of it and begin a Skyward Shield move.
