The pilot identified himself to Sacramento's KXTV News 10 as Chris Liu, though the station did not say what airline he was affiliated with. ORIGINAL STORY Pilot: YouTube uproar may have made skies safer (Dec. 26) KXTV writes Liu says he posted the video to highlight "what he believes is a serious flaw in airport security." "You have passengers and air crew upstairs being screened, while ground crew downstairs come and go with the swipe of a card," Liu tells KXTV, talking about what he perceives to be a flaw. KXTV says the story made headlines after the Transportation Security Administration got wind of the YouTube video. KXTV says that discovery "led to a team of six federal agents and sheriff's deputies coming to his (Liu's) home Dec. 2 to take his handgun and Federal Flight Deck Officer (FFDO) credentials." As for the YouTube video, Liu says his intention wasn't to generate headlines, but rather to help tighten airport security. "I've never even thought about being an activist, but it's turning into that direction," Liu tells KXTV. Still, Liu tells the station that what he wants most is to go back to flying as normal.
