Entry from: San Pedro de Atacama, Chile Entry Title: "Riding through Salar de Atacama" Entry: "I went further on road number 1 but after about 10 kms I returned and went back to a bigger road number 5. Road 1 was deteriorating quickly and it was getting narrower and narrower and more potholed as I was going further north. My destination today is Argentina and I have a large distance to cover. I decided to waste no time and get on a bigger road so I can get to the mountains quicker. I arrived at a town called Antofagasta and decided to stop there for lunch. I had some problems with taking cash out from the ATM machine again. I was trying different places and finally took the money out in the city centre. 5 minutes later I realized that I lost my googles either in the last cash-point or at the petrol-station were I tanked just 10 minutes ago. I went to both places but the googles were gone. I had to look for a motorcycle shop and I found one. The googles were pretty expensive and I didnt like the design but I saw a nice enduro helmet which I liked. They didnt have my size so I went to look for another motorbike shop in town and in case I dont find anything else I am going to buy those googles. Of course I did not find any other shops and when I came back to the previous one, it was closed until 5PM. I ...
