Kadena Air Base is a community of Americans, living in Okinawa Japan, just have their traditional hometown Holiday Kick-off. Tinsel Town represents the community coming together and have Holiday Fun. 18th Force Support Squadron (LtCol Borgert's staff) puts on a great family event for the Air Force Military community. It kicked off with Parade, much like a hometown Thanksgiving Parade, of course with the JROTC Honor Guard heading the march to the Shilling Community Center Parking. In the Parade were representatives from the Boy Scouts, Brownies, and Tiny Cheerleaders. Santa came in a Fire Truck and went to work right-away collecting requests for all the boys and girls. There was entertainment provided by Kadena High School, the 3rd MEF Brass Band, T-Da Dance Studio a Hip Hop Dance Crew, and Mr. Kernel Popcorn (Magician and Family Entertainer see -- www.kernelpopcorn.com). Sponsors like Delta and Japan Airlines did travel give-aways to all who participated. 18th Services DJs (Night Lite Entertainment) had a Block Party and provided the music for the kids to dance to. The Festivities included a Tree Lighting Ceremony, (with Brigadier General Ken Wilsbach, presiding), Float and Greeting Card Contest, give-aways and carnival gaming for the kids. We enjoyed ourselves and CinemaXJapan was happy to do the video coverage the this event. These are archive videos for the community. We hope to have you in them. Warmest Regards, Terry CinemaXJapan. Peace on Earth and to Men of Good Will.
